Prepare the sentry pylon
Remove dust from between the vanes and inside the weapon recess, wash the pylon and dry it upside down. Apply Black Surface Primer from low opposing angles before coating the outer armour faces.
Expected result
The inner weapon cavity and vane gaps are black, while the sharp outer armour facets remain clean.
Points to watch
Do not leave pale primer shadows behind the vanes or clog the pylon's energy aperture.

1. Prepare the model

Remove dust from between the vanes and inside the weapon recess, wash the pylon and dry it upside down. Apply Black Surface Primer from low opposing angles before coating the outer armour faces.
Expected result
The inner weapon cavity and vane gaps are black, while the sharp outer armour facets remain clean.
Points to watch

2. Apply the base colours

Brush Leadbelcher along each tube and leg, turning the pylon so the undersides receive the same opaque coat. Work around the green lenses instead of painting across their rims.
Expected result
The metal is continuous around every curve, with no primer visible beneath the chassis or behind the legs.
Points to watch
Do not bridge the narrow gaps between moving parts with thick paint.
Energy body
Where to paint: Green emitter lenses and central optic
Warpstone Glowcitadel · 22-23
Fill each lens with Warpstone Glow, leaving a hairline of the dark recess visible inside its metal collar. Use the tip of the brush on the small central lens.
Expected result
All five lenses are green, circular or oval as sculpted, and separated cleanly from their silver collars.
Points to watch
Do not add green to ordinary bolts, leg joints or the curved tubes.

3. Build the shadows

Controlled shadow
Where to paint: Emitter arms, central body and pointed supports
Nuln Oilcitadel · 24-14
Feed Nuln Oil into one seam at a time, then touch a clean brush to any bead that climbs onto a broad tube. Keep the centres of the curved arms metallic and readable.
Expected result
Sockets and joins are dark, while the rounded tubes still show a clean metal midtone.
Points to watch
Do not wash the whole pylon; broad black stains would flatten the curved metal.

4. Build the highlights

Stormhost Silvercitadel · 22-75
Layer Ironbreaker in broken strokes along the upper third of each arc. Add Stormhost Silver only to the four collar lips and the foremost tips of three or four feet.
Expected result
The upper silhouette catches a restrained cold glint without becoming a continuous chrome outline.
Points to watch
Do not outline every leg and tube with silver.
Focal light
Where to paint: Green emitter lenses and central optic

Wraithbonecitadel · 21-53
Curve a thin Moot Green crescent around the lower-right edge of each lens. Place one Wraithbone dot opposite it; make the dot on the central lens no larger than a pinprick.
Expected result
Each lens reads as glossy and convex, with the central eye quieter than the four emitters.
Points to watch
Keep both marks inside the green boundary; there is no free-floating glow on nearby metal.
