Wash and cure a resin print according to its resin instructions. Remove support marks and seams, then remove dust. Once dry, apply Black Surface Primer in thin coats from several angles and let it cure.
Coverage is continuous; beard and fur grooves remain open.
Do not prime a damp print or flood the recesses.

Where to paint: Face, torso, arms and knees
Paint skin Cadian Fleshtone, hair Mournfang Brown and fur Vallejo Flat Earth. Use Rhinox Hide for leather and a 1:1 mix with Mephiston Red for the loincloth. Paint steel Leadbelcher, brass ornaments Retributor Armour, skulls Ushabti Bone and the base Abaddon Black. Apply a second thin coat after drying wherever coverage is patchy.
Every material has an even base colour and a clean boundary.
Keep leather straps and fur free of metallic paint.
Where to paint: Face, torso, arms and knees
Thin Reikland Fleshshade with AK Glaze Medium 1:2 and shade beneath brows, beard and muscles. When dry, restore Cadian Fleshtone on raised areas. Gradually add Kislev Flesh, shrinking each highlight towards the brow, nose and upper muscle surfaces. Soften visible bands with a translucent Cadian Fleshtone glaze.
The face is brighter than the lower body; highlights follow rounded muscles.
Do not outline every muscle with a dark line.
Where to paint: Copper hair and grey-brown fur
Shade the recesses with a little Agrax Earthshade. Highlight hair locks with Mournfang Brown, then Vallejo Orange Brown near the face. On fur use Vallejo Flat Earth, adding Vallejo Buff to the upper tips. Place short strokes along sculpted strands rather than inventing new hairs.
Hair is warmer and brighter than the fur.
Do not brighten every tuft equally.
Where to paint: Leather straps and red loincloth
Highlight leather with Mournfang Brown, leaving Rhinox Hide in folds and beside buckles. Add a little Vallejo Flat Earth to Mournfang Brown for worn edges. Glaze Mephiston Red onto raised cloth folds, keeping the brown-red base in recesses and the transitions soft.
Leather has restrained edge wear; cloth has soft highlights.
Do not paint scratches across cloth or cover buckles in brown.
Where to paint: Hammer, belt plate, studs and brass ornaments
Shade steel recesses with Nuln Oil and brass with Agrax Earthshade. Once dry, highlight upward-facing steel planes with Ironbreaker and selected corners with Vallejo Silver. Use Liberator Gold on upper brass edges. Leave dark areas beside the brightest reflections.
Steel stays cool and brass warm, with only a few brilliant edges.
Do not turn the entire hammer silver-white.
Where to paint: Skull ornaments
Touch Agrax Earthshade into eye sockets and under cheekbones. Restore Ushabti Bone on raised surfaces; add Screaming Skull to the brow, nose and a few tooth tips.
The skulls look like warm bone rather than gold.
Keep the eye sockets dark.
Where to paint: Plain black base
Retouch the base with thin Abaddon Black. Once all paint is dry, apply a thin coat of Vallejo Mecha Matt Varnish to skin, hair, fur and cloth only where unwanted shine remains. Keep it off the metal highlights and preserve the plain base.
The base does not distract from the face and hammer.
Do not flood details with varnish or add scenery.
