Olive-green skin, black trousers and worn brown leather surround the Ork's battle-worn steel gun. Warmer ammunition, pale trophies and stronger facial highlights keep the heavy equipment from overpowering the figure.

Prepare the Ork and apply primer
Remove support marks carefully around the teeth, fingers and ammunition belt. Wash a filament print with mild soapy water; clean and cure resin as directed by its manufacturer. Let everything dry. Apply thin coats of Vallejo Black Surface Primer from several angles, reaching under the belly, gun and trophy skull. Wait for the primer to dry.
Expected result
The dry primer covers the undersides while teeth, fingers and belt links remain separate.
Points to watch
Do not paint damp resin or fill the barrel openings and small gaps.

2. Apply the base colours

Cover all exposed skin with Castellan Green. When dry, apply Deathworld Forest over the broad muscles and belly in thin layers. Leave the first colour beneath the chin, between fingers, under the raised arm and beside the straps. Keep the lips and nose green at this stage.
Expected result
Every exposed skin surface is green, with clear shadows beneath straps and limbs.
Points to watch
Keep skin colour off the leather straps, nails, teeth and gun.

3. Build the highlights

Paint the trousers Abaddon Black and highlight the folds with thin mixes containing increasing amounts of Eshin Grey. Paint the leather Rhinox Hide, then use Mournfang Brown on its broad exposed areas. Add a little Steel Legion Drab for short worn-edge marks on boots and straps. Keep the fabric transitions soft and the leather edge marks sharper.
Expected result
The trousers stay nearly black, while leather is recognisably brown and worn at the edges.
Points to watch
Do not colour metal buckles brown or turn the ribbed ammunition feed into leather.

Paint steel Leadbelcher, shade its joints with Nuln Oil, then restore the broad surfaces with Leadbelcher. Use Ironbreaker on exposed edges and a few Stormhost Silver dots on the sharpest corners. Paint the cartridge casings Retributor Armour, shade between them with Agrax Earthshade and highlight their upper edges with a little Ironbreaker mixed into the base gold.
Expected result
The ammunition is warmer than the steel; all barrel holes and joints remain dark.
Points to watch
Do not paint the whole gun gold or cover the brown straps with metallic paint.

Add Elysian Green to Deathworld Forest and layer it onto the upper curves. Gradually mix in Ogryn Camo for smaller highlights, strongest on the brow, nose and cheekbones. Use broader, softer transitions on the belly and shoulders. If a boundary looks abrupt, soften it with a thin layer of the previous mix after drying.
Expected result
The face stands out and the belly is rounded, with green remaining in the midtones.
Points to watch
Do not make every muscle equally yellow or draw pale outlines around the whole body.

4. Paint the details

Apply Khorne Red to the red panels. Add Wazdakka Red to highlight their upper edges, then place a few small Rhinox Hide chips where the plates meet or rub. Paint the grenade bodies Castellan Green and highlight their upper curves with Elysian Green. Keep the pins and catches steel.
Expected result
The red is subdued, chips are sparse and the grenades remain distinct from the skin.
Points to watch
Do not spread red onto barrels or make the green grenades as bright as the face.

Base bone and nails with Zandri Dust, shade their roots with thinned Rhinox Hide, then layer Ushabti Bone towards the tips and raised ridges. Add small Screaming Skull highlights. Paint the mouth interior Rhinox Hide and the visible gum edges with a restrained Screamer Pink line. Paint the eyes Mephiston Red with one tiny Averland Sunset accent per eye. Paint the boot ties Zandri Dust and highlight their raised strands with Ushabti Bone, keeping them matte.
Expected result
The teeth remain separate, bone looks warm and the red eyes are confined to their sockets.
Points to watch
Do not colour the metal skull buckle like bone or add glowing red skin around the eyes.

5. Finish the model

Paint the stone Eshin Grey. Drybrush Dawnstone lightly across the raised rock, then use a fine brush for a few Administratum Grey edge accents. Paint the dusty gaps Steel Legion Drab and lightly stipple a mix with Ushabti Bone on the higher grit. Keep most of the dust off the Ork's legs.
Expected result
The base has readable stone and dusty gaps but remains quieter than the face.
Points to watch
Do not add new debris, extra rocks or a new base silhouette.
Check the undersides and protect the paint
Where to paint: Grey rubble and dusty ground

Turn the Ork and check that the palms, undersides of straps, rear equipment and feet are fully painted. Correct any colour crossing a material boundary. After the paint has dried completely, apply a thin coat of Stormshield, avoiding pools in the gun mechanism and tooth gaps.
Expected result
Every visible surface is finished and no primer patches remain.
Points to watch
Do not use weathering or varnish to hide unfinished details.
