Prepare the long airframe without softening its thin wing edges or turbine blades.
Check that the tail fins and landing feet sit straight, then inspect the turbine mouths and weapon mounts for print dust. Wash the aircraft with warm water and a drop of dish soap, rinse it and allow the turbine recesses to dry fully. Apply Grey Surface Primer in thin passes from above and below, keeping the spray moving along the nose-to-tail axis.
Expected result
The primer is thin and even, with crisp wing edges, open turbine mouths and separate landing feet.
Points to watch
Do not spray directly into a turbine for a long pass or build a rough ridge along the tail fins.

1. Prepare the model

Wash the aircraft with warm water and a drop of dish soap, rinse it and allow the turbine recesses to dry fully. Apply Grey Surface Primer in thin passes from above and below, keeping the spray moving along the nose-to-tail axis.
Expected result
The primer is thin and even, with crisp wing edges, open turbine mouths and separate landing feet.
Points to watch

2. Apply the base colours

Give the aircraft a continuous olive skin from nose to tail.

Cover the airframe with two thin coats of Olive Green 69.028, brushing from nose to tail. Mix in Ogryn Camo and widen a lighter band across the upper fuselage, the near wing root and the top faces of both tail booms. Keep the lower wing faces in the deeper green.
Expected result
The airframe reads as one olive aircraft with a brighter upper spine and darker undersides.
Points to watch
Do not paint over the dark canopy or bridge the gaps around the landing gear with olive paint.

3. Build the shadows

Clarify the folding panels and control surfaces without outlining the aircraft like a diagram.

Run Nuln Oil into the cockpit seam, wing roots and tail joints, then lift any excess from the flat panels. Restore Ogryn Camo on the upper side of those lines. Add Khaki 72.061 to the nose ridge, the near wing's leading corner and the two upper tail tips, keeping each highlight short.
Expected result
Control surfaces are readable, and the strongest olive highlights follow the nose-to-tail direction.
Points to watch
Do not fill the circular wing recesses with shade or edge-highlight the complete tail perimeter.

4. Paint the details

Make the cockpit, turbines and landing gear distinct at a glance.

Paint the canopy and deepest turbine interiors Abaddon Black. Cover the outer turbine rings, weapon barrels, brackets and landing feet with Leadbelcher, then shade them with Nuln Oil. Add Ironbreaker to the front halves of the turbine rings and the top edges of the feet. Finish the canopy with one narrow Administratum Grey reflection along its upper-left edge.
Expected result
The canopy reads as dark glass, turbine rings remain round and bright at the front, and each landing foot is separate.
Points to watch
Do not add a second canopy reflection and do not fill turbine mouths or weapon bores with silver.

5. Add effects and weathering

Show airframe wear in the direction of flight and keep the fine silhouette clean.
Where to paint: Nose tip, wing leading corners, turbine lips and the bottoms of the landing feet

Place two or three tiny Chipping Brown 69.035 chips on the nose and wing corners, stretching them slightly rearward. Touch Ironbreaker to the very front of one chip and to the turbine lips. Stipple a trace of Khaki 70.988 beneath the landing feet, keeping the dust off the fuselage.
Expected result
Wear points rearward from the leading edges, turbine lips are crisp and only the feet carry dust.
Points to watch
Do not sponge the wings and do not paint long soot trails across the small tail surfaces.
