Prepare the walking pig
Inspect the raised foot and ear tips for support remnants, then remove dust gently. If the material needs washing, clean the pig and let every fold dry completely. Brush on a thin even layer of Vallejo Grey Surface Primer, clearing any excess from the nostrils.
Expected result
The dry primer leaves the nostrils and skin creases open.
Points to watch
Do not press on the thin tail while holding the body.

2. Apply the base colours

Mix equal parts Cadian Fleshtone and Rakarth Flesh, then cover the skin in thin coats with strokes following each rounded form. Reach under the belly and inside the ears before the mix dries on the palette.
Expected result
The skin is evenly peach with no visible primer on the underside.
Points to watch
Do not obscure the fine creases across the snout.
Set the hoof colour

Baneblade Browncitadel · 22-48
Apply Baneblade Brown to each hoof, bringing the brush up from the sole towards the skin boundary. Turn the pig to reach the lifted hoof without touching its pink ankle.
Expected result
All hoof shells are muted brown and their central splits are clear.
Points to watch
Do not fill the split in the forward hoof.
Define the eyes
Where to paint: Eyes
Abaddon Blackcitadel · 21-25
Touch Abaddon Black into each eyeball with a nearly unloaded fine brush. Keep the dark shape inside the raised pink eyelids.
Expected result
Both eyes are distinct and the eyelids remain pink.
Points to watch
Do not paint a black outline around the whole eye socket.

3. Build the shadows

Druchii Violetcitadel · 24-16
Place a small amount of Druchii Violet into the deepest folds, then draw a clean damp brush along the outer edge to soften it. Keep the broad back free of pooled shade.
Expected result
Cool shadows describe the folds without turning the whole pig purple.
Points to watch
Avoid a hard violet ring around the snout.

4. Build the highlights

Lift the forehead and shoulders

Kislev Fleshcitadel · 22-37
Mix one part Kislev Flesh with two parts Rakarth Flesh. Apply thin overlapping strokes to the upper curves, ending each stroke towards the lightest point and leaving the fold shadows exposed.
Expected result
The face and forward leg catch light with soft boundaries.
Points to watch
Do not add rows of pale bristles absent from the sculpt.
