Prepare the blessing hand
Clean the gaps between the fingers and the torn sleeve edge, wash the sculpture and dry it with the hand pointing downward. Apply Grey Surface Primer in two thin passes: palm first, then knuckles, sleeve and base.
Expected result
The light primer covers every finger separately and leaves the palm mark and cloth folds sharply defined.
Points to watch
Do not join the fingers with primer or leave moisture inside the sleeve opening.

1. Prepare the model

Clean the gaps between the fingers and the torn sleeve edge, wash the sculpture and dry it with the hand pointing downward. Apply Grey Surface Primer in two thin passes: palm first, then knuckles, sleeve and base.

2. Apply the base colours

Apply Cadian Fleshtone in two thin coats, painting each finger from knuckle to tip. Turn the piece and close the narrow strips between the fingers and beneath the thumb before judging coverage.
Expected result
The skin is evenly warm on the palm, sides and fingertips, with no primer in the finger webs or around the nails.
Points to watch
Keep flesh paint off the sleeve lip and the small sculpted palm mark.
Base colour
Where to paint: Draped sleeve and cuff
Zandri Dustcitadel · 21-16
Brush Zandri Dust along the length of each fold in two thin coats. Turn the piece after the first coat and cover the underside of the cuff and the inner edge of the cut end.
Expected result
The sleeve is solid warm linen from every angle, including the cuff underside and cut rim.
Points to watch
Do not carry the linen colour onto the exposed wrist or into the hollow cut opening.

3. Build the shadows

Reikland Fleshshadecitadel · 24-24
Place Reikland Fleshshade into one crease at a time and pull it towards the lower side of the hand. Clean the brush and soften the end of each line before it dries so the shadow fades into the skin.
Expected result
The anatomy reads clearly at the knuckles and palm without brown rings around the fingers.
Points to watch
Do not coat the entire hand with wash; pooled shade will make the broad palm blotchy.
Controlled shadow
Where to paint: Draped sleeve and cuff
Agrax Earthshadecitadel · 24-15
Draw Agrax Earthshade from the high end of each fold channel towards the cut end, one line at a time. At the cuff, place a narrow shadow directly beneath the lip and stop before the skin begins.
Expected result
Each fold has a dark root and a clean warm ridge; the cuff separates sharply from the wrist.
Points to watch
Do not leave pools at the bottom of the folds or stain the broad raised linen surfaces.
Controlled shadow
Where to paint: Raised mark in the centre of the palm
Agrax Earthshadecitadel · 24-15
Place a pinprick of Agrax Earthshade on the lower edge and let it settle into the sculpted recess. Dry the brush and lift it immediately if the shade touches the surrounding skin.
Expected result
The crimson accent has a discreet lower shadow and still reads as part of the sculpt rather than painted-on decoration.
Points to watch
Do not surround the mark with a dark ring.

4. Build the highlights

Kislev Fleshcitadel · 22-37
Feather Kislev Flesh onto the upper third of each knuckle and fingertip, keeping the strokes curved with the anatomy. Add a narrower line above the nails and leave the palm centre in Cadian Fleshtone.
Expected result
The raised fingers catch the light in order, while the palm remains broad and warm rather than chalky.
Points to watch
Do not put the same bright line around every finger; keep the underside and finger webs in shadow.
Shape and highlight
Where to paint: Draped sleeve and cuff
Ushabti Bonecitadel · 22-32
Screaming Skullcitadel · 22-33
Lay Ushabti Bone along the central third of each fold ridge, tapering the stroke before the channel begins. Add Screaming Skull only to the cuff's highest points and two or three sharp peaks near the cut end.
Expected result
The linen reads as soft, worn cloth with focused light on the cuff and nearest folds.
Points to watch
Do not trace every fold from end to end in pale cream; broken highlights keep the cloth natural.
Material detail
Where to paint: Raised mark in the centre of the palm
Cadian Fleshtonecitadel · 22-36
With Cadian Fleshtone, repaint the surrounding palm in tiny inward strokes until the mark has a clean sculpted outline. Leave the mark itself untouched.
Expected result
The surrounding palm matches the earlier skin layer and the crimson mark has a sharp, natural boundary.
Points to watch
Do not cover the shadow inside the mark or create a pale halo around it.

5. Paint the details

Material detail
Where to paint: Raised mark in the centre of the palm
Mephiston Redcitadel · 21-03
Remove most Mephiston Red from a fine brush, then touch the colour into the sculpted mark from its centre outward. Stop as soon as the raised boundary is filled.
Expected result
The mark is visible as a small controlled crimson accent and its edge remains entirely inside the sculpted boundary.
Points to watch
Do not enlarge the mark, draw a new symbol or streak red across the palm lines.
