Prepare tank and fuel trailer
Test every hose and trailer coupling for residue, wash both assemblies and allow trapped water to escape. Prime the tank and trailer together with Black Surface Primer, using angled passes to reach beneath the cannon and around the drawbar.
Expected result
Both assemblies share the same even black ground, including the hose bends and the trailer underside.
Points to watch
Do not join the trailer while moisture remains or clog the flame-cannon opening with primer.

1. Prepare the model

Test every hose and trailer coupling for residue, wash both assemblies and allow trapped water to escape. Prime the tank and trailer together with Black Surface Primer, using angled passes to reach beneath the cannon and around the drawbar.
Expected result
Both assemblies share the same even black ground, including the hose bends and the trailer underside.
Points to watch

2. Apply the base colours

Unified olive armour
Where to paint: Olive tank hull and fuel trailer
Death Guard Greencitadel · 21-37
Lay Death Guard Green along the hull panels with broad strokes. Cover the trailer's rounded tank and mudguards separately, keeping the connecting hose and tracks dark.
Expected result
The tank and trailer share the same even olive foundation, including the tank sides and rear mudguards.
Points to watch
Keep green off the long barrel, tracks, trailer wheels and ribbed coupling between the two vehicles.
Dark running gear
Where to paint: Tracks, Infernus cannon and trailer hardware
Abaddon Blackcitadel · 21-25
Fill the tank tracks with Abaddon Black, reaching each link from the front and side. Paint the trailer tyres and the cavity around the axle while keeping the olive mudguards clean.
Expected result
Tracks and tyres have a solid black base, and no grey primer shows beneath either vehicle.
Points to watch
Keep black off the wheel rims, metal barrel and ribbed coupling assembly.
Cold metal for the flame weapon and fuel hardware
Where to paint: Tracks, Infernus cannon and trailer hardware
Leadbelchercitadel · 21-28
Brush Leadbelcher from the mantlet along the full cannon barrel, then cover the shaft between the vehicles. Pick out the trailer valves, pipes and wheel rims as separate metal parts.
Expected result
The cannon and fuel fittings read as cold metal against the matte olive armour.
Points to watch
Do not carry metal into the black tyres or cover the green collars around the coupling shaft.

3. Build the shadows

Warm separation between armour sections
Where to paint: Olive tank hull and fuel trailer
Agrax Earthshadecitadel · 24-15
Run Agrax Earthshade through the hull seams and around selected rivet bases without circling every rivet. On the trailer, shade the tank's ring joints and the recess around the central valve.
Expected result
A narrow warm shadow separates the hull panels while the rounded tank keeps broad, clean olive surfaces.
Points to watch
Do not leave brown rings across the top of the tank or flood the join beside the tracks.
Depth in the barrel and trailer fittings
Where to paint: Tracks, Infernus cannon and trailer hardware
Nuln Oilcitadel · 24-14
Place Nuln Oil inside the muzzle and between the cylindrical barrel sections, then darken the bases of the tank valves. On each wheel, keep the shade in the hub and the gap between rim and tyre.
Expected result
The muzzle looks deep, each metal section is distinct and the trailer wheels remain easy to read.
Points to watch
Do not wash the entire barrel black or leave runs across the olive fuel tank.
Road dirt around the running gear
Where to paint: Lower hull, tracks, trailer wheels and fuel fittings
Agrax Earthshadecitadel · 24-15
Thin Agrax Earthshade and pull translucent dirt upward from the lower hull. On the trailer, concentrate grime behind the wheels and beneath the tank rather than repeating the tank's pattern.
Expected result
Dirt gathers naturally around the tracks and behind the wheels, while the top of the fuel tank remains cleaner.
Points to watch
Do not repeat identical brown dots along every rivet row or darken both vehicles from top to bottom.

4. Build the highlights

One overhead light across tank and trailer
Where to paint: Olive tank hull and fuel trailer
Elysian Greencitadel · 22-30
Feather Elysian Green across the upward-facing tank plates and strengthen it around the gun mounting. On the trailer, paint broad soft arcs over the upper half of the tank and narrower marks along the mudguards.
Expected result
Tank and trailer share one overhead light, yet each volume remains distinct along the long silhouette.
Points to watch
Do not brighten the lower side skirts or flatten the cylindrical tank into a single pale band.
Restrained metallic glints
Where to paint: Tracks, Infernus cannon and trailer hardware
Stormhost Silvercitadel · 22-75
Place a short Stormhost Silver line along the top of the cannon and small highlights on the forward rings. On the trailer, touch only the upper edges of the valves and wheel rims.
Expected result
The brightest metal stays around the muzzle, answered by a few quieter glints on the trailer.
Points to watch
Do not outline the whole cannon in silver or make the trailer wheels look chrome-plated.
Fresh wear on exposed metal
Where to paint: Lower hull, tracks, trailer wheels and fuel fittings
Stormhost Silvercitadel · 22-75
Add rare, short Stormhost Silver scratches to the most exposed hull corners. On the trailer, limit fresh metal to the coupling, wheel rims and two edges beside the wheels.
Expected result
The chips explain wear on the coupling and front of the tank without turning the olive armour into a silver mesh.
Points to watch
Do not spread silver evenly across the fuel tank or place bright chips inside deep recesses.

5. Paint the details

Small khaki identification panels
Where to paint: Hatches, raised trim and vehicle markings
Zandri Dustcitadel · 21-16
Paint two or three small hull hatches with Zandri Dust and repeat the accent on one upper trailer panel. Keep the shapes simple and limited to existing relief.
Expected result
A handful of neat khaki panels ties the trailer to the tank without becoming camouflage.
Points to watch
Do not colour every hatch or invent numbers and emblems on blank panels.
