Turquoise folds and copper edges

Turquoise outer folds meet an ivory interior and narrow copper edges. Lighter outward faces make the angular planter readable without painting across the seams between its planes.

Prepare the folded planter
Inspect the sharp rim points and remove print debris without rounding the folds. Wash off residue if needed for the material and let the deep cavity dry completely. Coat the outside and inside with a thin even layer of Vallejo Grey Surface Primer.
Expected result
Primer is dry throughout the cavity and all fold edges remain sharp.
Points to watch
Do not leave primer puddles at the bottom of the cavity.

Expected result

2. Apply the base colours

Cover the exterior with thin Sotek Green, drawing the brush along each flat face. Rotate the planter as you work so the inward folds receive colour without a thick ridge at their edges.
Expected result
All outside faces have a solid turquoise foundation.
Points to watch
Keep the interior cream area free of turquoise strokes.
Colour the inside
Where to paint: Cream interior
Ushabti Bonecitadel · 22-32
Apply Ushabti Bone from the cavity bottom upwards in thin coats. At each rim peak, stop the brush at the actual edge so the exterior stays turquoise.
Expected result
The cavity is cream throughout, including its deepest visible corners.
Points to watch
Avoid thick paint on the thin zigzag rim.
Paint the copper accents
Where to paint: Copper ridges
Balthasar Goldcitadel · 21-29
Run a thin line of Balthasar Gold along the zigzag rim and the outward ridges visible in the reference. Use the side of the brush against the sculpted edge, keeping the line flat and narrow.
Expected result
Copper follows existing edges without changing the folded silhouette.
Points to watch
Do not turn copper lines into raised decorative strips.

3. Build the highlights

Temple Guard Bluecitadel · 22-20
Layer Temple Guard Blue over the broad outward faces, leaving Sotek Green visible beside the inward seams. Use long thin strokes within each plane rather than brushing across neighbouring folds.
Expected result
Brighter outward faces alternate with dark inward folds.
Points to watch
Do not outline every face with an equally bright band.
