Blend the plain panels

Add a little more Rakarth Flesh to the mauve base mix. Apply overlapping thin layers through the centre of each plain panel, leaving the edges darker. Keep the brightest area toward the upper left to match the rest of the vase.

The plain panels have soft, curved highlights.

Avoid visible bands between the mixtures.

Mix Pink Horror into Screamer Pink. Paint the upper faces of the raised petals and leaves with short strokes, then use more Pink Horror on a few prominent tips. Leave the recessed background dark and keep the lower flowers less bright.
Expected result
Dusty rose highlights separate the flowers from the plum background.
Points to watch
Do not drybrush every raised edge to the same brightness.
Highlight the smooth inset

Lighten the mauve mix with Rakarth Flesh and apply a narrow soft highlight down the smooth side panel. Use a smaller amount beneath the laces. Blend the edges back into the base colour with thin overlapping strokes.

The plain panels look rounded without becoming pale stripes.
Points to watch
Keep the pale mixture off the surrounding plum flowers.
Highlight the cords and rim

Highlight the tops of the cords with Screaming Skull, leaving Ushabti Bone visible along their lower sides. Brighten the front-left rim with the same colour and soften it into the warmer ivory toward the back.
Expected result
The laces look rounded and the rim is brightest at the front left.

Do not turn the cords into solid white lines.

Add a little Rakarth Flesh to Pink Horror and place tiny highlights on a few upper-left petal tips. With a clean brush, add short Screaming Skull accents to the top lace crossings. Keep these marks sparse so the upper front stays the focal area.
Expected result
The sharpest contrasts stay around the upper flowers and lacing.
Points to watch
Do not repeat these accents evenly over the whole vase.
