Prepare a clean, even foundation without softening any sculpted detail.
Inspect the skull mask, pistol muzzle, fingers, blade edge and gaps around the raised leg under a side light and remove support marks or loose dust. Wash the miniature in warm water with a drop of dish soap, rinse it and let it dry completely. Apply Black Surface Primer in several light passes, turning the figure so the undersides receive the same thin coat.
Expected result
The primer is thin and matte, and the gaps around the weapons, hands and armour remain open.
Points to watch
Do not flood the mask, weapon openings or narrow joins with primer.

1. Prepare the model

2. Apply the base colours

Build a rich green armour colour with deep, clean separation.

Apply two thin coats of Warpstone Glow over the black primer, stopping short of the deepest joins, overlapping panels and lower edges. Mix a little Abaddon Black into Warpstone Glow for the lower halves of the helmet, chest and thighs, then smooth the transition with a fresh thin layer of Warpstone Glow on the upper and forward planes.
Expected result
The armour reads as saturated green with smooth light across the major curved plates.
Points to watch
Do not fill the joins with bright green or leave separate patches on the broad plates.

3. Build the highlights

Sharpen the direction of movement with selective green highlights.

Moot Greencitadel · 22-24
Reinforce the lit edges with Warpstone Glow, then add Moot Green only to the sharpest forward corners. Break long lines into short segments so the armour keeps its weight and does not look outlined.
Expected result
The brightest green accents lead from the helmet through the pistol arm to the planted leg.
Points to watch
Do not trace every armour edge with Moot Green.

4. Paint the details

Keep the black areas distinct from the green armour and from one another.

Paint every black area Abaddon Black. Layer Corvus Black across the upper faces of the shoulders, backpack and weapon casings. Add Eshin Grey to their lit edges and reserve tiny Dawnstone points for the nearest corners. On the ribbed undersuit, use only a soft Eshin Grey line along the upper ridges.
Expected result
Rigid panels catch crisp light, while the flexible undersuit remains softer and darker.
Points to watch
Do not give the soft joints the same bright outline as the shoulder plates.
Use the lenses and chest emblem as small focal accents.
Where to paint: Red lenses, brown leather equipment, bronze chest emblem and green shoulder flame

Paint the lenses Mephiston Red, brighten their lower outer halves with Evil Sunz Scarlet and add one tiny Vallejo Model White point. Paint the pouches XV-88, shade their seams with Agrax Earthshade and line the most exposed upper edges with Ushabti Bone. Cover the chest skull with Retributor Armour, place Reikland Fleshshade in its recesses and add two small Stormhost Silver points. Paint the shoulder flame Warpstone Glow and sharpen its upper tips with Moot Green.
Expected result
The eyes remain the brightest colour points; leather, bronze and the shoulder mark are crisp but secondary.
Points to watch
Do not enlarge the lens points, flood the chest with shade or thicken the flame until it loses its gaps.
Give the weapons dark steel working surfaces without losing their black casings.
Where to paint: Pistol barrel and mechanisms, combat blade and metal fittings

Apply Leadbelcher to the barrel, muzzle, sight fittings, blade and exposed mechanisms. Shade the metal with Nuln Oil, then restore Ironbreaker only along the blade edge, muzzle rim and the upper faces of the nearest fittings. Correct the openings and casing seams with Abaddon Black.
Expected result
The pistol and knife have readable steel edges, black openings and clean casing boundaries.
Points to watch
Do not turn the whole pistol silver or spread metallic paint onto the green hands.

5. Finish the model

Support the green armour with a restrained volcanic base.

Paint the ground Abaddon Black and brush Eshin Grey, then Dawnstone, across only the highest texture. Draw Mephiston Red inside the deepest cracks and place Vallejo Model Light Orange along short central sections, keeping the glow inside the channels. Finish the rim with two smooth coats of Abaddon Black.
Expected result
The rock stays dark, the cracks glow in narrow lines and the base does not outshine the miniature.
Points to watch
Do not paint broad orange pools or scatter glow over the boots.
