Clean and prime the frog
Remove support marks without sanding away the crown facets, scarf folds or toe separations. Wash a filament print in mild soapy water; clean and cure resin according to its manufacturer. Allow the figure to dry completely. Apply thin coats of Vallejo Grey Surface Primer, turning the frog to reach behind the scarf and under the legs. Let the primer dry before painting.
Expected result
The primer is dry and even, with every sculpted recess still open.
Points to watch
Do not paint damp resin or bury the mouth crease under primer.

2. Apply the base colours

Paint the skin Castellan Green in two thin coats. Add Loren Forest over the broad upper surfaces, keeping Castellan Green beneath the arms, behind the knees and under the crown. Paint the raised eyelids green as well. Leave the throat and belly for the cream colours in the next step.
Expected result
All green areas are covered, including the back and toes, with clear darker undersides.
Points to watch
Do not turn the eyelids gold or spread green onto the scarf.

3. Build the highlights

Start with Steel Legion Drab, then mix in Ushabti Bone and cover most of the throat and belly. Leave a narrow brown shadow where the scarf and arms overlap them. Build softer, lighter layers towards the centre with more Ushabti Bone. Use a little Screaming Skull along the upper lip edge and the centre of the belly, blending away any sharp paint boundaries.
Expected result
The underside is warm cream with soft shadows, not flat white.

Keep cream off the upper face and scarf.

Mix Khorne Red with a little Screamer Pink and cover the whole scarf with two thin coats. Add Rhinox Hide to that mix for the deep folds beneath the chin and along the lower edge. Return to the base mix on the raised folds, then add a little more Screamer Pink and a tiny amount of Pallid Wych Flesh for the upper creases. Keep these highlights narrow and blend them into the burgundy.
Expected result
The scarf remains burgundy, with readable folds all around the neck.
Points to watch
Do not paint every fold edge pink or leave the rear scarf unpainted.
Paint the crown with controlled gold reflections

Apply two thin coats of Retributor Armour to the crown, including the inside. Run a small amount of Reikland Fleshshade along the joins and the lower edge of the band; keep the broad faces clean. Restore Retributor Armour where needed, then use Liberator Gold on the upper-facing facets and the tops of the round tips. Leave the opposite facets darker so that the crown looks reflective without extra decoration.
Expected result
All five points remain distinct and the gold highlights follow one light direction.
Points to watch
Do not add gems, writing or engraved patterns absent from the sculpt.
Soften the green transitions and brighten the face

Blend Elysian Green into Loren Forest on the forehead, upper cheeks, knees and arms. Add a little Ogryn Camo for the top of the eyelids, the nose and a few toe tips. Keep the strongest yellow-green light around the eyes; use softer transitions on the legs. If a boundary looks patchy, glaze it with a thin mix of Loren Forest and Elysian Green.
Expected result
The face catches the strongest light and the smooth skin has no harsh paint patches.
Points to watch
Do not stipple pores or turn every limb edge pale yellow.

4. Paint the details

Paint the eyes Abaddon Black. Mix a little Averland Sunset into Castellan Green for a narrow olive ring at the lower outer edge of each eye, keeping the large centres black. Add one small White Scar reflection near the upper edge of each eye in the same light direction. Let the final gloss coat provide the broader reflections.
Expected result
Both eyes are mainly black, with small matching highlights and green eyelids.
Points to watch
Do not paint white cartoon eye areas or metallic gold eyelids.

5. Finish the model

Check coverage and varnish selectively

Check the frog from behind and below, correcting any missed skin, scarf or crown areas. Once the paint is fully dry, apply a thin layer of Matt Varnish to the skin and scarf according to the product instructions. Keep heavy matte coats off the gold. After drying, add Gloss Varnish to the eyes only; the skin should stay matte.
Expected result
No primer remains visible, the cloth and skin are matte and the eyes are glossy.
Points to watch
Do not cover the whole frog in gloss or add a base absent from the source.
