Ready the Gargant shell
Remove powder and support scars from the crowded gun decks, wash the resin, and leave it to dry completely. Mist on Black Surface Primer from several angles so the undersides of the weapons are covered without filling the tiny panel lines.
Expected result
The black ground is thin and continuous around every weapon mount, while rivets and panel gaps remain open.
Points to watch
Do not leave dusty recesses beneath the guns or bury the Epic-scale rivets under a wet coat.

1. Prepare the model

Ready the Gargant shell

Remove powder and support scars from the crowded gun decks, wash the resin, and leave it to dry completely. Mist on Black Surface Primer from several angles so the undersides of the weapons are covered without filling the tiny panel lines.
Expected result
The black ground is thin and continuous around every weapon mount, while rivets and panel gaps remain open.
Points to watch
Do not leave dusty recesses beneath the guns or bury the Epic-scale rivets under a wet coat.

2. Apply the base colours

Establish the Bad Moons yellow and the few graphic markings

Paint the armour with two thin coats of Vallejo Deep Yellow, working around the steel pistons and rivets rather than flooding them. Build the band below the head one square at a time with Abaddon Black and Wraithbone. Finish by picking out only the two sculpted glyphs with Mephiston Red.
Expected result
The machine reads as yellow from arm's length, every rivet remains distinct, and the checks form a clean alternating band.
Points to watch
Keep yellow off the pistons, gun barrels and saw teeth; do not add checks or red panels where the image shows plain yellow armour.
Separate steel weapons from warm mechanical fittings
Where to paint: Gun barrels, saws, exhausts and exposed mechanisms

Lay Leadbelcher across the broad metal parts, working the brush across each barrel rather than along the panel seams. Use Retributor Armour only on selected collars and gears near the centre so the machinery gains a warm focal note.
Expected result
Every weapon group has a clean metal silhouette and the gold fittings stay subordinate.
Points to watch
Do not paint the black weapon housings silver or make every gear gold.

3. Build the shadows

Give the weapons depth without losing their openings
Where to paint: Gun barrels, saws, exhausts and exposed mechanisms

Place Nuln Oil into the roots of the barrels and around the saw hubs, then wick away any pool from the flat faces. When dry, touch Stormhost Silver to the forward teeth, muzzle rims and two or three piston edges.
Expected result
Gun openings stay dark, while the working edges catch a few bright points.
Points to watch
Do not flood the tiny muzzles or polish every metal edge to the same brightness.

4. Build the highlights

Give the yellow hull weight, wear and readable edges

Run Agrax Earthshade along panel joints, beneath the deck lips and around selected rivet rows, then lift any tide mark from the flat yellow panels. Restore the upward faces with Vallejo Flat Yellow. Add Vallejo Ice Yellow to the crane's top edges, the head casing and a few chips on the nearest armour corners.
Expected result
The yellow stays strong on broad plates, the construction lines remain darker, and the brightest wear follows the upper silhouette.
Points to watch
Do not shade the whole hull brown or outline every rivet with the same bright ring.

5. Add effects and weathering

Anchor the walker to the ground
Where to paint: Lower hull, feet, exhaust soot and chipped saw teeth

Stipple a little Agrax Earthshade around the feet and lower armour, keeping the marks denser below the first deck. Soften the outer edge with Eshin Grey on black panels. Add Stormhost Silver only where the front saw teeth would strike first.
Expected result
Wear is strongest near the ground and working teeth, with the upper decks remaining comparatively clean.
Points to watch
Do not scatter identical chips across every deck or cover the feet in one solid brown band.
