Midnight-blue body planes support a warm ivory crown. Short turquoise facet lights and a small command accent keep the Exarch's angular forms crisp without painting across their changes of angle.

Prepare the Aspect Exarch
Use magnification to remove support dust from the crown and weapon, rinse the figure and dry it fully. Apply Black Surface Primer in two very light opposing passes, with one brief touch from above for the crown.
Expected result
The Exarch is evenly black at gaming scale, with the crown points and weapon outline intact.
Points to watch
Do not bury the crown under primer or merge the weapon with the body.

1. Prepare the model

2. Apply the base colours

Mix turquoise into black until it reads as deep navy, then apply two thin coats along the flat planes. Turn the piece over to reach the underside of the arm and the inner faces between the legs.
Expected result
The body is uniformly midnight blue on front, sides and underside, with the red slit and ivory crown still sharply separated.
Points to watch
Do not fill the opening between the legs or paint over the recessed red slit.
Blank ivory crown
Where to paint: Ivory crown and crest

Apply Wraithbone from the flat tops down each sloping face, then use the brush edge on the narrow sides. Keep the three shapes separate at their blue dividing cuts.
Expected result
The crown is warm ivory on every visible face and retains three crisp, unmarked blocks.
Points to watch
Do not invent runes, stripes or Aspect symbols on the blank crown planes.

3. Build the highlights

Faceted light

Use turquoise to draw short, straight highlights that stop at every change of angle. Add a trace of white only to the top corner of the arm and the tip of the central prong.
Expected result
The blocky silhouette separates into readable planes without turning cyan along every edge.
Points to watch
Do not continue the highlight around hidden rear or lower edges.
Crown height
Where to paint: Ivory crown and crest

Blend Ushabti Bone upward on each sloping face. Finish with Screaming Skull on the top planes and a single narrow line down the central crest's front ridge.
Expected result
The crown rises clearly above the blue body, brightest at the tops and warmer near the joins.
Points to watch
Do not outline the entire lower ivory-to-blue boundary with white.

4. Paint the details

Small command accent
Where to paint: Red recess beneath the projecting arm

Fill the recess with Mephiston Red using the very tip of the brush. When dry, place a short Evil Sunz Scarlet stroke in its centre, leaving both ends dark.
Expected result
The slit is a crisp red focal mark contained completely inside the sculpted opening.
Points to watch
Do not extend the red onto the arm, crown or side faces.

5. Finish the model

Mix neutral grey with a little Ushabti Bone for the base colour. Shade the line where the top meets the bevel with Agrax Earthshade, then drag a lighter bone-grey along the two front corners.
Expected result
The plinth reads as one warm stone block, with a clear bevel and restrained front wear.
Points to watch
Do not carry the base dry colour up the dark-blue legs.
