Prepare both parts and prime
Remove supports and smooth contact marks without softening the hair, collar relief or lettering. Wash and finish curing the print as required for its resin, then let both parts dry. Test the pedestal joint before gluing. Paint the two parts separately if that gives better access underneath the bust. Apply thin coats of Black Surface Primer from several directions.
Expected result
The dry primer is continuous and the small relief stays open.
Points to watch
Do not sand away the sculpted collar marks as if they were print defects.

2. Apply the base colours

Darken Elysian Green with a small amount of Abaddon Black. Cover the armour and collar with two or three thin coats, allowing each to dry. Keep the mixture off exposed skin, the black undershirt and the chest emblem. Use a slightly darker mixture inside the collar and beneath the lower edges.
Expected result
The whole armour is green, with deeper shadow inside the collar.
Points to watch
Do not leave the rear or underside as unpainted black primer.

3. Build the highlights

Layer Elysian Green over the surfaces facing the light. Add Ogryn Camo gradually, keeping each lighter pass within the previous one. Warm the last small highlights with a little Averland Sunset. Soften boundaries with thin glazes of Elysian Green. Shade only the existing collar cuts and add a narrow light edge below the most visible ones.
Expected result
The collar has a smooth green gradient and remains matte.

Avoid new scratches or a uniform bright outline around the whole bust.

Basecoat the skin with Cadian Fleshtone and a little Rhinox Hide. Build up Cadian Fleshtone, then add Kislev Flesh for the brow, cheekbones and upper chest. Keep warm shadows under the jaw. A very thin glaze with a trace of Mephiston Red can warm the cheeks. Paint the eye whites sparingly, add small Calgar Blue irises and dark pupils within the sculpted eyelids.
Expected result
Skin looks warm and the two eyes share the same direction.

Do not add skin pores, new wrinkles or oversized white eyes.

Mix Mephiston Red with Fire Dragon Bright for a deep red-orange base. Paint the hair and eyebrows, taking care around the forehead. Use progressively more Fire Dragon Bright along the raised strands. Add a little Ushabti Bone for a few thin highlights near the upper tips. Leave the roots and spaces between strands darker.
Expected result
The hair is orange with clear dark roots and selective light tips.
Points to watch
Do not paint every strand with an identical pale stripe.

Paint the undershirt Abaddon Black and lightly highlight its raised texture with Eshin Grey. Use Dawnstone only on a few upper cells. Paint the earring with Retributor Armour, then add one small Ironbreaker reflection on its upper curve.
Expected result
The mesh stays dark and the earring remains a small accent.

Do not turn the black mesh grey or add a second earring.

Paint the emblem's background with thin coats of Mephiston Red. Once dry, carefully paint the existing raised letters with White Scar, keeping the paint inside their outlines.
Expected result
The white letters are clean and distinct against the red background.

Do not redraw the emblem or add lettering elsewhere.

Basecoat the pedestal Abaddon Black. Build restrained Eshin Grey and Dawnstone highlights on its upper ridges, leaving the grooves dark. Use a little Ironbreaker on the existing title relief. Paint the seven orbs with Averland Sunset shaded by Fire Dragon Bright around their lower edges. Pick out only existing star relief in dark red; do not add new symbols.
Expected result
The pedestal supports the colour scheme without outshining the face.
Points to watch
Avoid extra scenery, transparent-looking orbs or new base geometry.
Final check and protective finish

Rotate the bust under soft light and check every colour boundary, both eyes and the back of the collar. Repair any missed area with its matching paint. View it from a normal display distance: the face should read before the pedestal. Let the paint dry completely, then apply a thin compatible matte varnish. Restore a tiny satin accent on the earring only if needed.
Expected result
All areas are finished and the green armour stays matte.

Do not hide mistakes beneath grime or glossy varnish.
